Welcome to Homespun Rug Hooking!
My studio is located in rural Western Kentucky.
I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky. I have worked in commercial design and facility management
over twenty years.
About seven years ago I took a beginner class in rug hooking from McGown Teacher Janet Angotti and hooking and working with wool fabrics has been my passion and interest ever since.
I am a certified McGown Rug Hooking Teacher. I attend the yearly McGown Teacher’s Workshop in Ripley, WV. I am a member of Between the Rivers, Independence, IA ATHA Chapter.
I enjoy trying various sizes and types of hooking, so you will see a variety in my work. I also teach beginner rug hooking classes at my home.
Most designs on the site are my own and I would welcome any custom design requests or color changes. If you see something you love, but not in your favorite color scheme or size, I’ll be happy to work with you! I will also custom dye wools for you.
Thanks for your Interest!
Enjoy!
Pat

My Assistants
My rug hooking assistants and top critics are our miniature schnauzer, Lucia and our Llewellin Setter; Daisy.
Lucia loves to try out all the rugs I hook to make sure they are soft and comfortable. She loves to help rip-up recycled wool goods and she makes sure to hide her best treats in my stacks of wool. Daisy just camps out on the soft rugs.
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
